Over on the Create a Smile website they are searching for a February guest designer. They will be selecting a designer on the 17th of this month and I thought I’d join in the fun! This project uses one of their several adorable digital stamps that you can get free on their blog 🙂
To begin this project I downloaded Create a Smile’s kangaroo image. The original digital file has him lighting a bottle rocket in celebration of the New Year. I thought perhaps he’d want to send some valentine cards instead! I printed out the kangaroo on Neenah solar white card stock and then colored him in using copic markers.
For the background I taped off all four sides of my A2 panel and a hill layer. Using three shades of blue ink and several different stamps created a ‘sky’ background out of a multitude of stamps. I removed the hill mask and stamped the ground in two shades of green and two shades of coral, also using a variety of different stamps.
To create my scene I stamped the mailbox image from Lawn Fawn onto vellum and heat embossed it. Using Ranger multi medium matte I adhered the mailbox onto the panel followed by the three cards the kangaroo is ‘delivering’ to the post. Lastly, I put foam adhesive to the back of the kangaroo and added him to the card!
I hope you enjoyed my card!
