Today I’m sharing one of three designs for invitations to an anniversary celebration! Before I started this project I created several mock-ups to get a feel for layout, spacing, and color. I wanted these invites to feel light, airy, and informal.
Using my MISTI tool made this project very easy! All seven of these invites were made in iterations. For a less formal feel I chose a bright, cheery green for the sentiment and border. Both of which come from the same stamp set by Avery Elle, ‘Bunting’.
Once the border and sentiment were centered on the panel it was easy to place the florals in a way that created the illusion of encircling ‘time to Celebrate’. Using Memento tuxedo black ink, I first stamped the flowers on each of the seven panels followed by various leaves and smaller images.
The ‘Painted Flowers’ set by Altenew is a multi-layer stamp set that allows you to build up color in stages. Instead of using ink, I chose to loosely color the images with copic markers. For the yellow flowers I used Y000, Y11, and Y15 and for the pink flowers R11, R20, and R32 . The smaller leaves were colored using YG01 and YG03, and the larger using YG23.
That’s it! Super simple invites! I hope you enjoyed them! I’ll be posting two other invites soon, one focusing on just stamping and the other on watercolor!
