I must admit that I really struggled making this card. It started out going several directions, even had a key phrase (i.e. happy birthday) on it, but in the end, I stopped trying to force it. The little girl image on this card is ‘Chelsea’ from The Greeting Farm. I stamped her in a My Favorite Things hybrid ink before coloring her in with my copic markers.
Normally, I like one-layer cards but I’ve been experimenting more with layering and even introducing patterned paper into my cards. For this card I cut an A2 panel from an older Pebbles paper pad. A piece of vellum was die cut with Lil’ Inker Design ‘stitched rectangle’ die cut to mute the background. The flag and hearts are from the same Memory Box die cut – some are cut from Pebbles patterened card stock and others from white card stock. Lastly, I die cut the fence using a Lawn Fawn die.
Chelsea’s hair is colored in using Y000, Y11, Y32, Y21, E31 and E55. For her skin I used the following markers: E0000, E000, E00, YR00, and BV000. Her clothes are colored in using B0000, BG10, B45, B39, and RV34. The hearts on the flags are colored using RV34 and the floating hearts colored with RV63.
Once everything was adhered I added a little wink of stella and glossy accents! Birthday card complete! Thanks for stopping by!
