I started out as a scrapbooker, it wasn’t until a few (maybe two) years ago I became a card maker. I own a lot of stamps. A.lot.of.stamps. 🙂 But very few of them are traditional birthday stamps. In fact, I bought my first traditional birthday set this past month. Truth is, I’m struggling with it. Cupcakes and birthday cakes are for eating. I like cute little girls and fuzzy animals on my cards. 🙂 So, here I am, making a birthday card again and reaching for…flowers!
Using Reverse Confetti ‘Garden Bunch’ and matching die cut I began to make a birthday card for my dear cousin. These stamps have three layers plus the inner stamen for each, but you can choose to include or exclude layers for different looks. I stamped all the layers for my bouquet using a mix of My Favorite Things and Altenew dye inks.
The flower wrapper is a Reverse Confetti die called ‘Flower Wrap’. Once the flower wrap was cut out of card stock I folded it along the pre-scored lines and arranged my flowers, adding in some sprigs that are included as part of the die set. When happy with the arrangement I glued everything in place using multi-medium matte. I cut a piece of hemp cord and wrapped it around the bouquet along with the mini-tag.
There are several layers to this card. I took a Simon Says Stamp ‘diagonal stripes’ background stamp, inked it up in Versamark ink, and then stamped it on an A2 panel. I then covered the ink in Zing embossing powder in ‘aqua’ before heating the panel with my heat tool. The pink layer uses two separate die cuts: the Lil’ inker design ‘dotted scallop’ and a 3×4 die.
To create my sentiment I stamped ‘sending’ in Versafine ink on white card stock before trimming it down to make a flag. I then cut out the ‘hugs’ die, also from Simon Says Stamp, several times before glueing them together to add some dimension to the sentiment.
Once I assembled the card I added glossy accents to the ‘hugs’ sentiment and the small striped tag attached to the bouquet. That finishes up this card – I hope you enjoyed!
This is sooo pretty! Love all the happy colors!
