A Little Birdie Told Me

I love the artwork of Charley Harper, a modernist, whose nature drawings were based upon shape, color and pattern.  Amazing stuff.  The bird on this tag is from a Wplus9 set called ‘Happy Birds’, that brings to mind his work.  To make this tag I die cut a Reverse Confetti tag in gray card stock and then heat embossed it in white using the Lawn Fawn ‘woodgrain’ backdrop.

I  die cut a polaroid frame made by Mama Elephant twice and then stamped my scene on the inner portion of the second frame.  I colored the bird in using copic markers: R24, R29, E41, E31, and YR12.  Taking the colored portion I adhered it to the second frame so that the inner color square sat on the first frame’s inner portion…essentially doubling up on the inner frame portion.  Next I added glossy accents to the clouds and the birds beak and Tsukineko pico embellisher in black to the bird’s eyes.

Using the ‘Leafy’ Reverse Confetti die cut I cut two leaves, one in dark green and one in light green card stock.  I then cut the ribbon and ‘hello’ sentiment, from Memory Box and Wplus9 respectively, from blue card stock.  My sentiment was attached to the bottom right corner of the polaroid.  The leaves and ribbon were gathered together and then attached with glue to the polaroid before adding on the red clothes pin.  I attached the  polaroid die to the tag with foam tape and then added glossy accents to the die cut sentiment.

Have a great day!
