This poor kid has a squiggle face that always make me think he’s a natural red head standing in the sun without any sunblock on. 😳 I’ve been toying with backgrounds and this card is no exception. It is a combination of ink blending, stencils, and copic coloring.
To begin I stamped the little boy from The Greeting Farm in Memento ink on the A2 panel. I stamped the image again on masking tape and trimmed it out, covering up my initial stamped image. Next I stamped the small crab close to the little boy. Covering the panel with my Simon Says Stamp stencil, I taped it in place and then masked off certain areas of the stencil.
Taking Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon, I covered the open areas of the stencil. I then removed the stencil and blended ink on the white areas of the waves in Peacock Feathers and the sky in Mermaid Lagoon. I colored the sand using copic markers and made fine dots with a black pen.
I removed the mask off the little boy and colored him and the crab using my copic markers. To finish the card I added some white to the boy’s eyes and a mix of my clear Glaze pen and Glossy Accents to add shine to different areas of the card!
Thanks for stopping by!

I really like your background. I colored a mermaid today and really struggled with “where” she was! I have pinned this idea for next time. 😀
